Gee, Giovanna, I never get that feeling when I go on some of the rides at Disneyworld....do you??
The rides at Disneyland are understood by all to be part of a theme park that is not meant to be taken as reality.
But when we now have an "image" that can speak and is placed in an environment that is at the moment somewhat alarming and unexpected, that's a horse of a different color. This is an "image" that can speak that is in the process of being normalized as part of everyday life.
So I would really have to say that the rides at Disneyland and the imposition of a speaking "image" at a place where no one paid to see it and no one asked to see it are two completely different issues.
