I’m inclined to think that his murderousness was motivated largely by insanity and tribalism.
OTOH, Palestinian and German terrorists thought Uganda was a good place to take a hijacked Israeli plane.
And, when he was deposed and fled Uganda, the Saudis gave him refuge in a palace for the rest of his natural life.
So maybe the Muslims assess him more accurately than I do.

You got it right. Amin was motivated by pure tribalism, kleptomania, insanity, and 1970’s Third Worldism. The terrorists he cavorted with were of the leftist Carlos the Jackal type. The Entebbe terrorists were a joint venture by the PFLP Palestinian Communists, and the Baader Meinhoff crowd. He was a relic of those times, not of today's Jihadists.

Then we had the explosion of AIDS that was introduced through hepatitis B vaccines by the World Health Organization in Africa and in the New York homosexual populations...

He was also a demon possessed animalistic scary creature... but his anti-Christian and anti-Jewish jihad was inspired by Islamism. That's why he was looking to Islamize the country.

These are the friends of Idi Amin, Arab grand children of immigrants, who, since the early 1960s are better knows as the palestinians:
