TORRANCE, Calif., June 7, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- There are more than a dozen key differences in the beliefs of Christians and Mormons, yet most Christians have no idea.
In a recent article in the Christian magazine, World, author Joel Belz made this statement:
"A huge majority of the American public has no idea what Mormons claim to believe. If those holding to the Mormon faith were to place their distinctive truth claims front and center, the public response would be probing, negative, and nasty." -- World Magazine, God's World Publications, online June 16, 2012 edition (Vol. 27, No. 12)
For starters, official Mormon teachings include the belief that God the Father was once a man who progressed to godhood and that worthy men may one day become gods themselves.
On the topic of Jesus, official Mormon doctrine holds that Jesus' death on the cross did not provide full atonement for all sin. There is no concept of the Trinity. Rather, Mormonism is polytheistic, having multiple gods.
Everyone -- whether you are religious or just curious -- should know the differences. A free side-by-side comparison chart showing differences between Mormonism and Christianity is available as a free download for your computer or iPad. It can be printed for personal or group use. This objective chart simple compares the beliefs of Mormonism and Christianity in eight key areas.

Not really.
Even under your scenario, no conservative...
...living in a liberal state which Obama will win anyway...
...has ANY reason to vote for Romney.
We live in an electorally decided country -- which decides the presidential election on a state-by-state basis.
#2...When the polls disclose by the end of October which states Romney has locked up...then no FREEPER...
...living in those states has to vote for Romney or Obama...
...And that would seemingly include a state like Tennessee -- where I believe MHGinTN still lives.
Tell us, MHGinTN: How your vote for Romney would make a difference in a state like Tennessee that is not about to vote Obama in? Go, ahead. Wax elequent on that non-starter!
Subtract ALL the FREEPER votes in those given states, it won't take away Romney victories.
That leaves ONLY REAL swing states that leave this dilemma...
Yet for some reason, I don't hear TRUE conservatives applying their practical utilitarian political relativism to the above states. Why not?
YOU know darn well that your vote in TN won't help Romney or harm Obama. Romney's going to win TN -- and Obama's gonna lose Tennessee, anyway -- with or without your vote.
Therefore, your practical utilitarian political relativistic nonsense is just that. Nonsense.
(Then tell Romney to stop paying for the following published Mormon nonsense with his $millions donated to the Lds church):
Snapshot of Joseph Smiths Slanderous Invectives vs. Christian Sects |
Mormon Source[Note: Most of these are Mormon scriptures'. In fact, First three rows below are Lds 'scripture' & therefore cannot be rug-swept any more than a Jew might try to take three commandments off of the very tablets of stone Moses brought down from the mountain] |
...which of all the sects was right must join NONE of them, for they were ALL WRONG<>/u> those professors were ALL CORRUPT | Joseph Smith History vv. 18-19. Lds "scripture" Pearl of Great Price |
...which of all the sects was right ALL their CREEDS were an ABOMINATION in his sight they teach for doctrines the commandments of MEN | Joseph Smith History vv. 18-19. Lds "scripture" Pearl of Great Price |
Mormon church the only Christ-sanctioned church on earth: the foundation of this [Mormon] church the ONLY true and living church on the face of the whole earth [Obvious scorched earth implication: All other churches are false and dead] | Lds scripture Doctrines & Covenants 1:30 |
Direct question asked of Joseph Smith: 'Will everybody be damned, but Mormons?" Answer from Lds "prophet" Joseph Smith: 'Yes, and a great portion of them, unless they repent, and work righteousness." | Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 119 [Not scripture but still publicly spoken by the Mormon living prophet and published by a later Mormon living prophet, Joseph Fielding Smith via a publisher owned by the Mormon church Deseret News Press, 1938] |
In 1952 the first official proselyting plan was sent to missionaries throughout the world It included seven missionary discussions that emphasized [four topics, one of them being] THE APOSTASY and Restoration [This makes it 60 years that Mormon church missionaries, now numbering 55,000, have formally emphasized in its training & door to door saturation a priority in bashing the worldwide Christian church as apostates (100% AWOL)] | Our Heritage: A Brief History of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints p. 116, 1996 |
I’m sorry to have to point this out to you, but you just made two postes to me verifying your desire to attack Romney, on this thread that you keep trying to claim is only a religion thread in the religon forum. And you’re demanding that I get into a political discussion over whom I will vote for, on this supposedly religion forum thread! I can only hope that the truth of what you’re doing will eventually register with you and we can get back to exposing the vagaries of MormonISM outside of the political arena.
MHG, I've usually found -- and hopefully you're an exception -- that it's the religiosity type that carefully compartmentalize their faith...
...from, say, work...
...their local public square...
...their recreational life...
...their politics...
...you name it...
People who hermetically seal "religion" vs. (________) [fill-in-the-blank] usually haven't learned to apply...
...Biblical worldviews to ALL of life...
They "bottle up" religion into some supposed "neat" corner...and they don't practice it beyond that.
Now, previously, I would have thought you don't fit into this category of religiosity types.
Your post here 'causes me to doubt that assumption. (Perhaps you can clarify)
Your response was about what I expected. And that too is diverting from what the thread was supposedly about. I won’t help you to make it personal so you can dodge the reality. Have a nice day
I lived in a glass house once. I was the King of that house. I kept my throne up in the attic until one day it came crashing through the ceiling.
You know the rest of the story, right?
People who live in glass houses shouldn’t stow thrones.
(Well, I guess that's what happens to new Romney converts...instead of cultural, social and worldview dissidence that we'd expect to find amongst conservatives, we find harmony and convergeance!)
Your post #90..."Let's stop parsing this issue, Colo, you are using MormonISM to attack Romney.
Nice try, but Jews don't believe in Jesus either.
Not making it personal, MHG? Your post #90..."Let's stop parsing this issue, Colo, you are using MormonISM to attack Romney. [GF]
Exactly.
I told MHG of the congruence of ops for posting (see post #77).
That wasn't good enough for MHG. He had to make it as personal as possible by continuing to second-guess my motives.
When a person superimposes inward motives -- judges inward motives -- can't get much more personal than that.
You really can’t help yourself I see. Sad that.

Obviously, LDS is polytheistic and quite heretical to orthodox Christianity.
But I do not believe that being LDS, by itself, should be a disqualification for our voting for president.
Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.
Its not really, but being a backstabbing socialist gives me pause...
Why the devil are you two fighting?
Just like MORMONism's 'facts'.
So why aren't we laughing more?
A huge majority of the World's MORMONs has no idea what mormonISM has written and taught.
