Interview: Edward Klein on 'The Amateur,' Obama's Faith

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who for years was the pastor of Barack and Michelle Obama, told author Edward Klein in a three-hour interview for his book, The Amateur, that the first couple are not "church people." Released last week, the book instantly hit The New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists and is drawing both praise and criticism for its portrayal of the president's inexperience prior to and during his first term.

The Christian Post caught up with Klein, a former editor for The New York Times Magazine, and asked him to discuss some details in his book, especially as it relates to the Obamas' faith and his chances of winning a second term in November.

On why he wrote the book, Klein said he was amazed that as an experienced journalist, "a largely unknown, African-American senator, who had accomplished very little in his professional career, comes out of nowhere, trances and fascinates millions of voters, gets elected to the White House and then turns out to be something we've never seen before – and that is an amateur in the Oval Office."

CP: Some analysts argue that the mainstream media never properly examined President Obama's background prior to the 2008 primary and general election. Do you think that was the case?

Klein: Absolutely. The mainstream media drank the kool-aid and was rooting for Obama to become the next president in a fashion we have never seen before in American history. Instead of covering the election as professional journalists, many reporters and news sources were simply participants who were trying to elect Obama. That is not the role of a professional journalist.

CP: Readers of The Christian Post are curious about the religious background of our elected leaders. How would you describe the Obamas' faith?

While we can expect the MSM to again be shills for the Obama campaign and for Obama’s Chicago machine to try every dirty political trick known to man, the big difference between the 2012 election and 2008 will be that more people know at least something about Obama’s past, character and especially his lack of accomplishments. Had the recent revelations about Obama’s pot smoking high school and college days, his being raised Muslim, his radical socialist agenda and his Marxist roots been known in 2008, Hillary might be running for her second term.

I recommend ‘The Amateur’ to everyone here. In fact I’m recommending it to everyone I know who has any fond feelings for this country at all. Klein does a masterful jib of exposing obama and his retinue for what they are...loud and proud, arrogant, uninformed, elf obsessed far left ideologues, who are too stupid to know what they don’t know. Every past president knew what he didn’t know and surrrounded himself with advisors who did know. obama believes that he knows everything so he only surrounds himself with slobbering synchophants who hourly sing his praises!

Just heard an interview of the author by the Armstrong and Getty team in Sacramento.

It turns out the word “amateur” was coined in a recent meeting in Chapaqua, NY at the Clinton household discussing strategy. Hillary declined running in 2012, thinking that it would be disloyal and there’s always 2016. That’s when they called Obama an “amateur”. According to the author, Bill is concerned about his health and thinks (apparently) that he may not last until 2024, hypothetically.

In any event, MSM fails again on this interesting story because it makes Obama look bad. But give them a cobbled 35 year old document regarding a Republican candidate and it’s off to the races.

As I am sure you have read this week, many Catholic organizations, schools, dioceses, and businesses are suing the chosen one over his absurd and offensive assault on religious freedom——his Planned Parenthood HHS mandate to force Catholic institutions to violate their faith. A reckoning is coming.

One can only be a hypocrite if one claims first to be a Christian. Obama claims Christ. Yet his life’s focus is the vouchsafing of abortion and the slaughter of children. He may have no principles, no soul, and no conscience, but by God he is resolved when it comes to ensuring the murder of the preborn. He gets an A+ in this regard. His recent “wrestling” with his “evolving” understanding of the sacrament of marriage is a farce. He is a demonically driven human being. He is a liar. “Truth, what is truth?” He is a deceiver. He is a destroyer. He is a hypocrite. He wants to destroy the Christian way of life and advance his human secularist pagan agenda.

He is no more a Christian than Pope Benedict is a Muslim. His words mean nothing. Judas was a disciple. Satan quoted scripture to Christ. Obama is a liar and the very definition of a hypocrite.

Christian charity, kindness, understanding, and counsel need to be saved and used for those who are lost, those who are struggling, or those who are wrongly attacking us or our Christian faith. The great and powerful O says he is a Christian. Therefore, he must know better. He has chosen to deceive. He has chosen to lie. He has chosen to use Christ and his phony façade of Christianity to advance his political pagan aspirations. Period. He worships at the altar of human wisdom and has no love or fear of the Lord. He is a fool, but a clever one.

Take a stand. American Life League will not bow before this pagan king. This man is a chastisement sent from God to test His people. America has lost her way. America is the land of the free and the home of the brave——a country founded on Christian ideals and God-given freedoms rooted in truth and natural law. Our pagan king seeks to destroy. Oppose him. Live your faith. Speak your mind. Boycott his supporters. Boycott those who vomit on Christianity and attack marriage through support of Obama’s homosexual deviant agenda.

“If the world hates you, know that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” Embrace that!! Live it. Fear not.
