I find words like soutane to be quite consubstantial actually...
It’s a bit hard to spread the Good Word if all of the recipients need the code book first.
Yes, but it’s a great Scrabble word.
Someone puts down ‘tan” and you make it soutane.
I certainly prefer it to "Virginia Clericals" i.e. a business suit with a dickey and collar.
