Former US President Jimmy Carter has disclosed that he had angry exchanges with Pope John Paul II about liberation theology and about the ordination of women.
The former president said that he complained to the Pontiff about the Churchs perpetuation of the subservience of women while Blessed John Paul II was visiting the US in 1978, and there was more harshness when we turned to the subject of liberation theology. Carter said that he classified the Pope as a fundamentalist, placing him in that category along with Irans late Ayatollah Khomeini.
In the same interview Carter said that it is very fine for gay people to be married in civil ceremonies, although he suggestedmaybe arbitrarilythat churches should not be required by law to solemnize same-sex unions.
Carter made his remarks as he introduced a new edition of the Bible with his own study notes, helping readers to follow his understanding of the Scriptures.

The former president said that he complained to the Pontiff about the Churchs perpetuation of the subservience of women... Carter said that he classified the Pope as a fundamentalist, placing him in that category along with Irans late Ayatollah Khomeini. Most embarrassing president ever.
And an embarrassment of a human being.

Well, all I can say is, religiously I’m a Fundamentalist.
I’m proud to be so.
Anyone calling me a Fundamentalist offers me a high compliment.
It’s the other words you can put with that that would make it less so.
Apparently for all his intellignece (you have to have it to be a nuc sub driver) JEC missed this bit:
“Catholic Fundamentalist” is not the same as “Muslim Fundamentlist” is not the same as “Baptist Fundamentalist” (that’s me).
The Pope doesn’t send out “youths” with ‘splodey vests; imams don’t pray for the “unsaved”; and I don’t use a rosary.
That’s just for starters. But I’m syopping here. People with common sense already get it.

Jimmy’s at the age when people start remembering things differently — remembering what they think should have or must have happened, rather than what actually did happen.

Never fear. It is inevitable that Protestants would have some embarrasments too. We Catholics have been burdoned with an entire batallion of CINO’s - Kennedy’s, Pelosi, Kerry, Durbin, O’Malley, and that’s only the beginnin!

Like Obama, "... Jimmy Carter is a transparently loathsome, vicious, and poisonous human being who is not only clueless to his evildoing, but sanctimoniously imagines that he is morally superior to the rest of us. Carter will never know how toxic he is, even though (or, more precisely, because) the toxins leak out everywhere, and we must bear them. And yet, he is at peace. ..."

Jimmy Carter is a despicable little worm. He opposes all that’s good and embraces evil as his brother...Arafat, Kim Jung Il, Castro etc. etc. etc.
