The Six Dawns not only harmonizes Genesis and modern science, but justifies the "minimal mental gymnastics" with citations to other parts of Scripture and the writings of the Church Fathers. (Of course, being Orthodox his citations to Scripture rely on the complete Septuagint, rather than the Masorete favored by Jews and protestants.)
