Christianity has been the target of attacks for two millenia. The Mormons wish to be considered Christian. Therefore they need to suck it up and deal with the same kind of scrutiny, mocking, and ridicule as the rest of Christianity has to put up with.
That’s right. They now want to be considered Christian not “Christians”.
One term is objectified and exclusionary to anyone who is not a member.

This seems to go completely against the golden rule (see Matthew 7:12).
