PING!

Why would an all knowing being need to test anything ?
Should not that being already know the outcome ?
Just asking ...
In fact, the format errors made the post come out hideous. Sorry about that. Who do I talk to delete the post?

My take is that any testing God does isn’t to convince Him, but to convince others, usually the ones being tested.
The test is not for his benefit, but for ours.

You honestly think someone KNOWS this?
I agree, what use would a test be to God?
I’ll accept that ... maybe challenging would be more descriptive ... just saying
I made several qualifications throughout the post regarding the ultimate certainty of the arguments contained therein, while expounding on a circumstantial case.

So it’s really an example? Not a test?
I always entertained two theories here. First that an angel (now Satan) questioned God’s judgment on something.
Secondly, that they rebelled because of the Second Person of the Trinity, becoming man, and yet ranking ahead of them because He (Christ) was still God.
Also another thought — that the angels were jealous of Mary — that she should give birth to the Son of God, only begotten of the Father through the Holy Spirit.
Then why would it matter? Just say what you think. After all, no one knows. Your answer would be as valid as any others, wouldn’t it?
And...you have hit a home run on all three!
Look at the end of the long post.

The same way that we’re all tested:
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world — the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life — is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. (1 John 2:15-17)
Some angels failed the test:
Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lordc delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe. And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own homethese he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day. In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire. (Jude 1:5-7)
That’s why God sent the flood:
There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. (Genesis 6:4)
It matters because, as I will show later, the nature of human sin derives from the nature of the sin of the fallen angels.
It also matters because, as I will show later - much later - the most grievous collective and individual sins in history are geared to destroying the image of God in humans to the extent of either making the Incarnation impossible, or following the fact of the Incarnation, making it powerless to redeem.
Since “Know the Enemy, know yourself” is an axiom I subscribe to, it follows that any intelligence we can acquire to defeat the enemy is, within reasonable limits, good to know.

I never found an application for the discussion of how many angels dance on the head of a pin but maybe others have..............
