God's Word the Bible, declares that a believer already has been saved (using past tense grammar). God's Word declares that a believer already has the possession of heaven with all its blessings!
There’s a reason for the red letters... ;^)
How can you have unreal faith? I’m not referring to those that might lie to you about it. I’m talking about your own. I thought that was clear.
I’m not talking about people who are lying. I’m talking about people who would agree if asked if they believe in God, in Christ His only son, and even in His death, burial and Resurrection yet their lives suggest otherwise.
Christ said that many will say “didn’t we do this or that in your (Christ’s) name” and He will tell them, “Depart from me for I never knew you.”
And I’m not suggesting that a person can earn their way to heaven. It is a gift.
He’ll let you know when you get there.
Hopefully He won’t choose to judge based on these “holier than thou” threads.
My mistake. I thought you meant a person’s OWN faith, not his concern with the truthfulness of other people. Apparently, you don’t have much faith in other people. How’s that going in your life?
The answer is yes...the “little ones” are not turned away from Christ in the eucharist. To state that they can’t be saved because the don’t comprehend an intellectual concept is not a problem for us. I regularly stand in line behind those who are mentally handicapped, and they shame me with their love and faith. It is I who struggle with understanding...not them.
I define infant baptism as “hopeful baptism” otherwise known as infant dedication.
Getting into the infant baptism issue bypasses the real question: Is baptism a saving act or a result?
Answer: Jesus saves. Not Baptism.
I suppose that it is true that I don’t have much faith in other people. It is because I know what we are capable of.
Need I remind you:
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; Who can know it?” Jer. 17:9
and
“For I know that in me (that is , in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.” Rom. 7:18
So, are you informing us, if so you haven’t made a statement.
Do you agree, or disagree?
I know for a fact that I’m saved....and you, too.
There might be folks who can gain more knowledge about it from you, more than I can provide them.
