In the present dispensation there is only ONE true Church, which is called the Body of Christ separate and distinct from the prophesied, earthly kingdom of Christ vested in redeemed National Israel as a called-out nation or church, assembly or congregation, above all other nations.
You are correct on that.
The King James version of the bible that is used in the Protestant churches is not even the real version of the bible.
King James commisioned the Hampton Court Conference in the early 1600’s and they changed what “THEY” viewed as problems with the current Biblical form. In other words, they changed what they didnt like.
**I just think that the original post contained misinformation that needed to be addressed.**
Thanks for taking the time.
You might be shocked to find that a lot of you guys will be in Purgatory.
Jesus Christ founded the Catholic Church.
the person who founded the Catholic Church would be Contantine the Great, who may have been uncertain about one G-d, but was pretty darned sure about One Empire and One Emperor.
This reference to the 'church' in Acts 8:3 does not reference Gentiles. FOr the Church in Acts 8:3 was not the Body of Christ of which Paul speaks about later in Romans, etc. It was simply the group of Jewish believers in the Kingdom of God program for Israel where were assembled at Jerusalem. It was no more the Church of our present dispensation that was the church in the wilderness, of which Stephen spoke about in Acts 7. After the stoning of Stephen a great persecution arose against this group of Jewish believers who had acknowledged Jesus as Messiah - no Gentile acknowledged Jesus as Messiah - Messiah was onl y prophesied for Jews, not Gentiles. Saul was the chief leader of the persecution of this Jewish group, going from house to house, identifying Jewish believers in the Kingdom of God and putting them into prison. Most of these Jewish believers fled from this city and were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. However, the Jewish 12 Apostles remained in Jerusalem. The 12 Apostles remained in Jerusalem because they knew that the Kingdom of God must first need to be established in Jerusalem - and it could not be established in Jerusalem until the Jews repented and were water baptized. Therefore they did not carry out the great commission to go to the Gentiles until Jerusalem had first accepted it Messiah. These 12 Apostles were waiting for the repentance of Israel in order for the Kingdom of God to be established and they would then reign as judges over Israel (Matthew 19:28, 21:43). They did not know the times and seasons (Acts 1:6,7), but they know that Jerusalem had rejected God's offer of their Messiah - Jesus. They know that Jerusalem and Israel would only repent only after they see Messiah (Zechariah 12:10):
Zechariah 12:10: And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
No Sir....
Christ said to Peter... Upon this rock you should shall build my church! What church do you think that was? All the other Christian were not around at that time so that leaves only 1.
Christ conformed Peter as the first Pope of the Catholic Church and there has been a Pope ever since that time...
Its right there in the Bible for all to read...
“confirmed” sorry for the typo
“protestants” What am I protesting? So you think that little Italian church headed by German dressed in purple will get you into Heaven? Not even 10 million hail Mary’s come close. What can wash away our sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus! 1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Amen and Amen!
Who said the Pope will get me into heaven? That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of...
Who said Hail Mary’s will get me into heaven?
I certainly did not. I agree with you that the key to heaven is through Christ. However, that does not negate “HISTORY” which is factual.
It is your, (and proper RC} interpretation that the rock was the RC church. A protestant interpretation is that metaphorical rock was the statement of belief.
I can’t tell from the text. I am glad that you think that you can.
“I doubt, therefore, I think.” Descartes
II Corinthians 5:8: We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
No purgatory for believers In Christ - read this Truth:
Romans 8:35: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Romans 8:36: As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
“on this rock you shall build my church” seems to differentiate between the rock and the church built upon it.
“Protestant” means exactly what the word is and where it came from. There were Catholics and only Catholics other than Jews, and the Protestant Church’s sprung up from protesting Catholic doctrine.
Come on people, some of you are acting just like Liberals trying to white wash history to favor your own agenda.
Why do people always have to criticise the Catholic Church in order to justify their own beliefs?
Do you ever hear The Pope criticize Protestant religions...no you dont. But Protestants always try to demean Catholics.
Ok what Church was built upon that rock then?
Cant wait to hear this one?
You’re a protest-ant. You’re protesting the Catholic church. Where do you think that term came from?! Not from mars.
It’s not a little church, 1 billion members.
Do I think membership will get me to heaven, of course I don’t. No real Catholic does. One has to love Jesus, really love him and form a personal relationship with Him. The Eucharist, the sacraments, etc, leads one on their road to salvation.
I guess by your statement then that Catholics are not Christians? Really?
“The Church” reminds me of “The Government”. I don’t trust either one of them.
Galatians 2:7: But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;
Galatians 2:8: For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me (e.g., Paul) toward the Gentiles:
II Peter 3:15: And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
II Peter 3:16: As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
