Jeffs isn’t simply controlling these peoples’ lives, minds and bodies with this edict.
He is controlling their souls.
He is one of the most evil men to walk the earth. His sick mind has destroyed the will of these people.
God has made note of it.
His cult must be exposed for the evil it has wrought.
And how do we contrast this to Joseph Smith going to the devout Mormon families of teenage girls and tell them that God had chosen the girl to be his polygamist wife; that God had said Smith, the prophet would be destroyed by God unless he married the girl; that the eternal souls and salvation of the girl and the entire family depending on the girl marrying Smith . . . and then Smith sequestering the girl in a room with him, her religion's prophet and leader, and telling her the same thing: her soul, the souls of her family, and the life of her prophet depending on her marrying him?
And I don't make this stuff up. It's in contemporaneous first-hand accounts by the families and the girls. And historians, including prominent LDS Historian Todd Compton, write about it. His award-winning book, In Sacred Loneliness, addresses Smith's polygamy by writing about the wives of Joseph Smith, using their diaries and letters, and the diaries and letters of their parents, children, and friends, and other records.
Compton's response to LDS reviews of his book (FARMS refused to print any response by him) is staggering.
True.
And yet; does not our Government do the same; just not to the same degree?
