So find teaching from Jesus or the Apostles of the bodily assumption of Mary. And dont use that lame others were so she could have been.
>>The Trinity isnt in Scripture.<<
Oh what total nonsense. Are you saying the RCC made it up?
1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
John 10:30 I and my Father are one.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
And there are others that prove the Trinity.
Now for the bodily assumption of Mary. I cant seem to find any scripture to prove that. Im sure you would be so kind as to point to book, chapter and verse as I have done with the Trinity.
Which one is Barnes? Is he an Apostle or is he Christ?
You clearly aren’t restricting yourself to either the Apostles or Christ to justify your beliefs. Why should I?
“Oh what total nonsense. Are you saying the RCC made it up?”
Are you saying the Catholic church wrote the Athanasian Creed, which defines the trinity?
I’m happy to discuss what the Church Fathers teach on the Assumption of Mary, but only if you’re willing to concede that what they teach is valid.
Since you’re following Barnes, I don’t see why this should be a problem. You’re saying we should regard Barnes as authoritative in his intepretation of Scripture.
Now, are you willing to concede that the Church Fathers are also authoritative?
