What those who disagree with Mary as the Mother of God will totally ignore is that all of the anathemas are about Christ and not Mary.
Showing again that all Marian doctrine originates in Jesus.
Mary is who and what she is because Jesus is who and what He is.
So simple.
Evangelicalism arguably is Crypto-Nestorian.
The classical Protestant traditions, however, affirm that Mary is the Mother of God.
John Calvin and Martin Luther both taught that.
Mary is also the perfect sinless spouse of the Holy Spirit.
Blaspheme her and you blaspheme...
And by those disagreements about Mary and our Lord, Jesus Christ, they are sinning against the Holy Spirit — the one sin that cannot be forgiven.
Just as Mary said: “My soul doth magnify the Lord . . . .”
