Ever notice how anti-Catholics have (and I mean routinely) poor reading skills?
Yeah, I so often want to exclaim, “How could someone possibly go through so-and-so many years of Catholic education and come out so profoundly ignorant of the most basic Catholic theology. Then I remember the low quality of catechetical instruction and I read the absolute inability of some people to comprehend a simple sentence, and I say to myself, ‘No, I guess it’s credible. Sad, but credible.’”
The truth is most of the nonsense that these “former Catholics” claim Catholics believe is the result of severe truth-twisting by evangelical churches. They know so little little of context of what they saw around them (”They were praying in front of statues!”) and are so bereft of basic reasoning skills that they easily fall prey to whatever ploys are used against them (”They were praying TO statues!”)
