He wasn't cremated, but crucified, died and was buried (not that you should be crucified).

But Christ was "buried" in a tomb ABOVE GROUND. Not quite what we think of as a "burial".

They still have those. You don’t have to be buried underground.

I don’t believe that was unheard of. Even today, Americans are not uncommonly buried above ground in places where the water table is high, such as Louisiana, and some are buried in mausoleums in various states, including California.

I believe it was customary to “bury” people in holes carved out from the side of the hill in old Jerusalem.

So, while it was a tomb, it is not what is normally portrayed in the movies. The tombs were more like what we have a mausoleums these days. Not room enough to stand up and walk around. But rather, dug out and with a large rock rolled in front to keep the critters out.

So, buried or entombed are probably not 100% accurate, nor are they incorrect.
