Urgent Prayer Request (Update post #91, 107, 127)

This is an urgent prayer request for a family who has suffered a tragic event. Last night this family (friends of mine) had their house burn down while they slept. One died, four others are in burn centers (one with burns over 40% of body) and one treated and released. Prayer for speedy recovery and comfort for their loss at Christmas time.

I am grateful for the response of the Freepers here to this need. I can’t relay your blessings and prayers to them personally yet because access is limited to the ICU.
Two of my friends were put into the ICU last night - meaning all four who are hospitalized are in ICUs.
Many of you have offered to help. The following is the news account and it contains point of contact information if any wish to help them out with money - which will be their greatest need besides prayer and healing. Those of us local can handle the clothing etc, but every little bit will help.

Still praying...I noted this in the article...
The fire reportedly started in the laundry room of the double wide mobile home at 12:13 a.m.
Folks, this sounds like it could be a dryer vent (lint) fire.
Check them dryer vents/ducting, etc. at least 2x a year...yes, I know it’s a pain...

Folks, this sounds like it could be a dryer vent (lint) fire. Really don't know SZ. All I know is that the fire woke them up - I don't think the smoke alarm caught it for some reason. And the speed at which it spread through the house. I know I'm double checking my smoke alarms and will be replacing one this weekend for sure.

True...I didn’t meant to imply otherwise, sorry.
I was just positing, since the FD believes the fire started in the laundry room, that a simple inspection and cleaning of the dryer vent/ducting can do alot to give one some peace of mind.
Smoke alarm batt’s. get R2 2x a year in our home.
Cheap insurance.
