This is an urgent prayer request for a family who has suffered a tragic event. Last night this family (friends of mine) had their house burn down while they slept. One died, four others are in burn centers (one with burns over 40% of body) and one treated and released. Prayer for speedy recovery and comfort for their loss at Christmas time.
I visited with some of them last night. Their mood seems to be good - incredible when you consider the burning hell they had to pass through to get out of the house. Most have burns on their feet and are progressing well. The oldest son went through surgery and is still pretty heavily medicated but prognosis is good. So too is his younger sister- both of which had the 40%+ burns to their bodies.
Their pastor as asked that this be posted for those who want to help -
“The Barclay Catastrophe Fund” has been established at Wells Fargo Bank. Donations can be made at any branch in the US effective immediately. This family needs all the financial support that ANYONE is willing to contribute, so please, continue with your generosity! Their medical bills are going to be astronomical and they need assistance desperately. Thank you

Good news
One of the younger boys are being allowed to walk and another will soon be allowed to start. Once they are walking ok and don’t need any further dressing changes, they will likely be released.

One of my friends, the one with 40% burns is having bouts of high fever and there are concerns about infections. Continue to remember them. This isn’t a sprint - it is a marathon.
12/30/11 Update
More good news. The young girl that had 40% burns was taken off the respirator today and is talking!
Remember, this is a long run, but this is good news.

Status of my friends. The only one still in the hospital is the youngest daughter - everyone else has been released. The most remarkable was that the oldest son who had burns over 40+% was released nearly three weeks early!
The daughter still in is progressing well too, but I have no updated release date. But she is recovering very well.
Thanks to all for your prayers for my friends. God has provided quick healing and now we look forward to how He will reestablish them in a new home and heal from the emotional scars.
