If people couch their positions in ambiguous statements, then I prefer to clarify my answer to a position that is more clearly defined.
We have the 'full truth' in whatever God has determined we need to know in this world Mark....He gave it to us thru His son..."And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us"... All truth is in and of Christ and His words He left us with.
Let us see you jettison the words of Peter, Paul, Jude and John if what you say is true.
As I have stated before...when catholics stop looking for what's not there and focus instead at what IS there the Lord God has given,... then some advance might be made in how we might agree....but as long as catholics keep on looking for what's not there then they cannot hardly address what's been given...it distracts from the truth rather than enhances it.
We have the truth of Christ. We need no reforming.
I'm stating this again because it is so prevelant when you and others respond....it's a pattern seen often and used to evade what's there before them. So do you believe God's Word is your Final Authority Mark or not?
I believe that God is the Final Authority. You say Word. Do you mean Jesus? You see, anything can mean anything when outside of the Church. I've had a number of antiCatholics sneeringly inform me that the Word is the Bible, for instance.
Then why not simply state you need clarity from the poster rather than you beating around the bush?.. Had you asked the the poster what they ment by 'the Word' it would have supported your effort to "clarify your response, but that does not seem to me what your intentions were...as mentioned prior in my post...rather distancing from the statement.
<Let us see you jettison the words of Peter, Paul, Jude and John if what you say is true.
... Why?...This is not a hard reading to understand...("And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us")......The entire first chapter of John makes it quite clear the scriptures are speaking of Christ.....
"In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. ...'HE' was with God in the beginning."....Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made."......"In Him was "life" and that life was the light of men."....The light shines in the darkness but the darkness has not understood it."........to all who received him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to be become children of God"---children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God."
...In other words Jesus is the Gospel. ...Jesus is Gods promise. He is God both speaking his word and keeping his word. ......and so what I have stated surely is true and the scriptures clearly attest to that as stated here.
We have the truth of Christ. We need no reforming.
Who said you needed reforming? I didn't. But I would have no problem saying it would be a good thing for most to leave the catholic church as it gives no indication it's going to promote Jesus Christ first and foremost above all the "other stuff" they promote above Him.
Now maybe you don't do that but many do Mark...you seem at times to be on a different page then others who practice Catholicism...however your tag does attest to where your devotion lays.
