If people couch their positions in ambiguous statements, then I prefer to clarify my answer to a position that is more clearly defined.

Then why not simply state you need clarity from the poster rather than you beating around the bush?.. Had you asked the the poster what they ment by 'the Word' it would have supported your effort to "clarify your response, but that does not seem to me what your intentions were...as mentioned prior in my post...rather distancing from the statement.

<Let us see you jettison the words of Peter, Paul, Jude and John if what you say is true.

... Why?...This is not a hard reading to understand...("And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us")......The entire first chapter of John makes it quite clear the scriptures are speaking of Christ.....

"In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. ...'HE' was with God in the beginning."....Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made."......"In Him was "life" and that life was the light of men."....The light shines in the darkness but the darkness has not understood it."........to all who received him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to be become children of God"---children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God."

...In other words Jesus is the Gospel. ...Jesus is Gods promise. He is God both speaking his word and keeping his word. ......and so what I have stated surely is true and the scriptures clearly attest to that as stated here.

We have the truth of Christ. We need no reforming.

Who said you needed reforming? I didn't. But I would have no problem saying it would be a good thing for most to leave the catholic church as it gives no indication it's going to promote Jesus Christ first and foremost above all the "other stuff" they promote above Him.

Now maybe you don't do that but many do Mark...you seem at times to be on a different page then others who practice Catholicism...however your tag does attest to where your devotion lays.

Look at the poster and the content of the post.

Negative. Jesus is NOT the Gospel. Jesus is the Word of God (Logos). The Gospels are the words of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John (through however many translations) that attempt to write the Word of God into the word of God. We believe that the Gospels are the highest point of revelation to man, since God Himself Incarnated as a man and spent His time on earth teaching and Creating His Church.

Now maybe you don't do that but many do Mark...you seem at times to be on a different page then others who practice Catholicism...however your tag does attest to where your devotion lays.

Thank you; I will take this as a compliment. But never forget that I as a Christian stand on the shoulders of theological giants. My tagline comes from St. Augustine, a theological giant and defender of the Church. He not only believed it; he used it effectively to battle the heretics and apostates.
