Every Catholic who attends Mass should purchase a copy of Dr. Ted Sri’s book, The Mass. In this one book, Dr. Sri explains in detail how every part of the celebration of the Mass is derived from the Bible. For me, it has brought new meaning to what I put into, and what I get out of, every Mass that I attend.

....Or if not that, and if there is a such a book, is there a book about the Catholic mass for “dummies” ?

I will do a search for such a book, besides the one by Dr. Sri.

Thanks for your testimony about Sri’s book, “A Biblical Walk through the Mass.”

I loved it and thought it only lacking in the Nicene Creed part, which, I guess had not been totally firmed up when he wrote the book.

Editing that -- the new translation had not been totally firmed up, because his book uses all the new translations.

Also, read how the Lord didn’t want to establish a hierarchy, which you can read about in Judges and in Samuel. Isreal wanted a King. The Lord didn’t want them to have a king, but instead wanted to appoint judges to handle disputes. I don’t believe it’s the Lord’s will to have a hierarchial system as exists in the Catholic Church.

Please quit saying that the non-Catholics are not posting scriptural references. We are. You are just refusing to acknowledge them.

Please answer me about the omission of the 2nd commandment. I’m curious as to how this passes the smell test for most Catholics.
