St. Irenaeus of Lyons lived in the 2nd century. The Eastern Orthodox Church shares the same interpretation with the Roman Catholic Church and they have been separated for 1000 years.
Have a listen to a good Orthodox audio commentary on the Book of Revelation. It might be refreshing to hear another perspective that is free from Roman Catholic/Protestant sectarian biases.
