Gay Episcopal Bishop to Preach at San Francisco Catholic Parish
Catholic Culture ^ | 11/22/11

A notoriously 'gay-friendly' parish in San Francisco has invited an openly homosexual Episcopalian cleric to lead an Advent Vespers service.

Most Holy Redeemer parish asked Bishop Otis Charles, a retired Episcopalian prelate, to lead the November 30 service. After serving as the Bishop of Utah from 1971 to 1993, he publicly announced that he is homosexual. Divorced from the mother of his 5 children, he solemnized a same-sex union in 2004.

ok, let’s test your premise.

show me from the NT where anyone was brought to the Faith without the Church being present?

Romans 10:17 tells us faith comes from hearing the word of God.

Romans 10:14 says how can they believe unless someone preaches to them?

The Eunuch, who was reading the Scriptures, when asked if he understood what he was reading said:

“how can i understand, unless someone explains it to me?”

The “someone” who has the AUTHORITY to explain ( i.e. teach ) is THE CHURCH.

What verses do I think Jesus lied about?

In deed the seminaries seem to be recruiters for homosexual priests as anywhere from 30-50% of the seminarians are homosexuals, St. Johns at Camarillo being notable for such.

27.... God did this so... that men would seek him and perhaps ....reach out for him ....and find him,... though he is not far from each one of us.

Beautiful verse and makes it possible for all to seek Him, reach for Him, and find Him......He is really much closer to those who do not yet believe then they realize.

There's a Hymn which speaks of this..."He was there all the time"....and as believers we can attest to this.

didn't read that, didn't need to

Do you ignore Hebrews, James, Jude, and Revelation like Luther did or do you just redefine parts of those books to suit yourself? When your're ignoring and revising various chapters and verses to suit your own personal interpretation of Scriptures, do you insert whole pages of revised replacements you came up with or do you go verse by verse with Post-it notes layered one over the other?

I heard a fellow speak about his leaving seminary for that very reason....he was astounded and hurt deeply how silent his instructors were about what was clearly obvious to him.

When you have a church recruiting, enabling and or hidding this infiltration within their church, and this at the bottom and the top rungs of leadership...it is expected the tentacles reach throughout the entire system and become deeply entrenched as we have learned and continue to learn. It took years and years and years of this and why this is not going to go away any time soon...it will take years to clean it out not to mention the debrie left in it's wake.....if ever.

Apparently the nuns were mean to her when she was just a little girl.

There are few catholics I've spoken with, both in the catholic church and having left who all attest about the "meaness" of the nuns among the few who were otherwise.

You’re welcome. I continue to be amazed every day how God is working in my life and how he is using me to disciple to others. I look forward to each and every day now.

>> The Apostles instructed that the men they ordained, also ordain others to continue this work. Read 2 Timothy 2:1-2.<<

Then they clearly showed that the leadership of the RCC do not qualify to be in those positions.

1 Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

1 Timothy 3:11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. 12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

>> any time there is a question of doctrine, the Holy Spirit leads THE CHURCH to truth.<<

The Holy Spirit was promised to all believers who comprise the true church.

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: The Holy Spirit was sent all believers to teach and that we should not be seduced by any other teacher and have no need for men to teach.

1 John 2:26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. 27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. >> so when someone teaches BAPTISM is not for the remission of sins,<<

Does that mean when a person is wanted for murder they are looking for that person so he can then commit murder or was the murder already commited?

was Paul the husband of one wife?

explain your “murder” question, in the context of the doctrine of baptism. as written, it makes no sense.

>>didn't read that, no need to. (picked that up from your compatriots.<<

So you didn’t recognize that 1 Timothy 2:5 and Heb. 10:19,20 come from scripture? Didn’t read it because it comes from the word of God rather than the word of some guy in Rome or what?

>>Which books of the Bible did you throw in the trash this morning?<<

The ones that contain errors are surely not inspired by the Holy Spirit who is perfect. Anyone who relies on those books that contain errors and contradictions is not listening to the Holy Spirit.

Since Jewish Rabbis don't approve of anything in the New Testament, are you going to throw it all out the same way you threw out seven books of the Old Testament because Rabbis don't approve of some of those books or just keep on revising the New Testament to fit with your own personal interpretation of Scriptures?

He was the one writing to Timothy giving the “rules” wasn’t he?

>>explain your “murder” question, in the context of the doctrine of baptism. as written, it makes no sense.<<

It’s rather easy if you listen to the Holy Spirit. The forgiveness of sins has already happened just as the murder had already happened. Baptism is a outward affirmation of what has already happened in the spirit.

Who said anything about anyone approving anything? I said if the books contain obvious errors and contradictions they are not to be considered inspired by the Holy Spirit since the Holy Spirit would not inspire error.

“Baptism is a outward affirmation of what has already happened in the spirit.”

LOL, we hear this “outward affirmation” of what has happened already story, but where do the Scriptures say this?

answer = NO WHERE

this is a 16th century tradition of men.

Peter didn’t say this in Acts 2:38, he said baptism is for the remission of sins and receiving the Holy Spirit.

he didn’t be baptized as an “outward affirmation”, did he?

Paul wasn’t told to be baptized in Acts 22:16 as an “outward affirmation” , was he?

no, Paul tells us in Galatians 3:27 , baptism places us “into Christ”

if anyone brings a different Gospel, let him BE ACCURSED.

I look forward to you showing me from the Scriptures where baptism was ever said to be an “outward affirmation”

cue the crickets.........

I think it can be assumed that as these move into positions of influence and power they promote and protect their own.

Counting on a cancer to heal it’s self doesn’t turn out well.

It’s in all the gospels.

The word is what leads people to Christ, not the church.

It’s the authority of the word and the conviction of the Holy Spirit who draws men to Jesus.
