A notoriously 'gay-friendly' parish in San Francisco has invited an openly homosexual Episcopalian cleric to lead an Advent Vespers service.
Most Holy Redeemer parish asked Bishop Otis Charles, a retired Episcopalian prelate, to lead the November 30 service. After serving as the Bishop of Utah from 1971 to 1993, he publicly announced that he is homosexual. Divorced from the mother of his 5 children, he solemnized a same-sex union in 2004.
Not really. Acts and the Epistles tell us about all the churches of men that arise on a continuous basis out of the ooze of human imagination.
12 years of Catholic School and attending Mass every Sunday for 46 years and never knew i was supposed to worship diana a/k/a mary!!
LOL!
i love exposing these jokers who claim the Church teaches this or that, and then run away like roaches when exposed for the “untruth” tellers that they are.
this thread is exhibit a - i even post the letter that supposedly taught this worship of diana and suprise, suprise, IT TAUGHT NO SUCH THING.
but do you notice the silence from the other supposed “christians” to this blatant untruth telling?
cue the crickets.............
Christians believe Jesus is one person, with two natures.
Nestorians believe Jesus the man is different than Jesus, the Son of God.
thank you for showing Nestorianism isnt dead.
I got news for ya...God didn't reveal to anyone his TRUE nature(s)...All this bloviating by your religion is nothing more than comical to watch...It's all about power and authority...
You claim your religion knows God's true nature and so has the one-up on every other denomination which is a joke since it took 400 years for your religion to actually find the Trinity in the scriptures...
And why don't you knock it off with the Nestorian Christians...You're religion's real beef with the Nestorians and the rest of the early Christians is that they would NOT bow to your religion nor your popes...And they rightfully refused to equate the mother of Jesus with the goddess Diana, the queen of heaven...
The Nestorians were far closer to everything that was preached and taught in the scriptures than anything that comes out of your pagan religion...
You guys make me proud to side with the Nestorians...
You're quoting scripture and you don't even know what it means...
why do non-Christians care what Christians believe?
i never understood that.
“This is my aspergillum
“This is my gun
“This is for church
“And this is for fun.”
the fact that others outside of it claim to be christian, doesnt change the fact there is only ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH, founded by Jesus Christ and protected by the Holy Spirit for 2,000 years.
So you are still hanging on to the fallacy that to be Christian you must be Catholic, eh??? The word of God condemns your religion at every turn...
Apostolic Succession has always been the hallmark of the true Church.
You need to change that to (T)rue (C)hurch and patent the name...It's the name of a Company It is not name of the group of follower who put into Jesus Christ by believing on him...That group is called the 'church'...
Oh no, thats not true at all. The true body of Christ, His church, survived even though the Catholics burned them at the stake and committed all sorts of atrocities against them.
First off, we don't know if it is authentic, what with the record of your religion and it's manipulation of it's historical record...
And secondly, it doesn't line up with scripture which only shows that the Apostle Paul had a heads-up on your religion right out of the gate...
2Co 2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
Gal 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
You give us no reason to believe that Paul is not talking about your religion...
There surely is and its not the RCC.
Just like gays; they know that they are missing out, but their own vanity prompts them to demand acceptance or acknowledgement from the real thing.
Those who do not accept Nicea are not Christians. Game, set, match.
Would *abandoning* work for you, too?
Maybe you're not listening to your Popes. Lets take the prayer of Pope Pius XII. [http://catholicism.about.com/od/tothevirginmary/qt/Honor_Immacula.htm]
Ill use just the bolded excerpts from the prayer.
we cast ourselves into your arms
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (When did we need to replace God with Mary?)
confident of finding in your most loving heart appeasement of our ardent desires, and a safe harbor from the tempests which beset us on every side.
Hebrews 4:15-16 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (once again Catholics replacing Christ with Mary)
O crystal fountain of faith
Romans 12:3 according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. or "a measure of faith." (but Mary is the fountain of faith for Catholics)
Lily of all holiness
1 Samuel 2:2 There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. (for Catholics however, all holiness is given to Mary)
Conqueress of evil and death
Hosea 13:14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes. (but Catholics claim it was Mary who conquered death)
Convert the wicked
John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; (Catholics have even replaced the Holy Spirit with Mary)
Statement by catholic Bishop Liqouri .......We often more quickly obtain what we ask by calling on the name of Mary than by invoking that of Jesus..... She...is our Salvation, our Life, our Hope, our Counsel, our Refuge, our Help
Need I go on? Catholics have replaced virtually every attribute and working of God and given that to Mary in their worship.
all these other so called christians believe the Holy Spirit couldnt protect the Church, that it went apostate soon after the Apostle John died, and that it was restored in the 16th century.
Prepare the flak jacket and the helmet. The wannabees are going on the attack.
all in a day’s work my friend!!
give them enough rope and they hang themself every time.
Romans 9:30-35 30What shall we say, then? That Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have attained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith; 31but that Israel who pursued a law that would lead to righteousness did not succeed in reaching that law. 32Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone, 33as it is written,
"Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame."
Isn’t it amazing that Catholics who claim they believe that God gave the Holy Spirit to the church don’t act like the individual can be led of, enlightened by, and sealed with until the day of redemption, that same Holy Spirit?
Dropped the old woman and kids off at the curb and sped off to the arms of his new lover.
That's what comes of being one's own Pope and proclaiming one's own salvation. Individuals have the best chance of getting it wrong at some point. It is the Church that is the pillar and foundation of truth, not some apostate in his cups deriving new truths with every gulp.
let’s test your theory.
if your version of the “church” is true, you should be able to name at least one Christian in each of the first 10 centuries after Christ.
can you?
i’ll ask you to name one from the third century and the sixth century. that’s only TWO names, should be a piece of cake.
let’s see how you do. then we can examine what these men or women who you name believed.
in fact, let’s open this up to all the so called ‘christians” who posted.
