Now, it is true that Ron Lafferty was convinced by his brothers that they should take Lds "scriptures" like Lds Doctrines & Covenants 68:2-4 seriously -- about how ALL Mormon priesthood members are allowed to have "revelations" from God...I blame Joseph Smith as an accomplice in those deaths because of his wreckless "revelations" in D&C 68!!!

As an added thought, Lafferty wasn't only convinced to take D&C 68 seriously, but D&C 132 COMMANDING Mormons to practice polygamy is still on the books, too!

For anybody reading the last recorded 10 chapters of the Mormon Doctrine & Covenants' sections, it truly is a bizzarre experience!

* D&C 132 tells the Mormons to be polygamists for the first time!
* D&C 132:20 tells the Mormons to be polytheists for the second time -- but the first time in writing!
* D&C 134:12 tells the Mormons to not give their "gospel" to slaves ... which today would translate to be women and children trafficked as sex slaves.
* D&C 129 tells Mormons to shake hands with demonic spirits (& others) to discern whether or not they are Satanic.
* D&C 138 talks about a vision of dead people!
* D&C 132:17 talks about men becoming angels!
* D&C 132:18 talks about "gods" being "appointed"
* D&C 130 -- the year Joseph Smith was on a "revelation roll" re: polygamy -- came up with "gems" such as highly-touted Joseph Smith prophecies even to this day!

Mormons like to say how Smith "predicted" the Civil War 17-18 years before it broke out...yet Smith spoke like a Mormon god giving a revelation when he wrote: "It MAY PROBABLY arise..." (130:13)

Wow! Now that's "divinity" speaking? What a laughing stock of a "prophet!" "may probably..."??? Now there's a "god" speaking thru a "prophet" to follow!!! /s NOT!!!

Oh. And for "good measure," two verses later, Joseph Smith puts words in the Mormon god's mouth saying: "Joseph, my son, IF THOU? livest until thou are eighty-five years old..." (130:15) Say what?

The Mormon god doesn't even know how old his "prophets" will live to? What? He threw out 85 as a rough guess?...when Smith didn't even make it to age 40? Why mention it at all?

Smith was an out and out con man, liar, and false "prophet."

In the 1830s when Joey Smith penned that the average age for men was less than 65...

When he claimed that his mormon god had promised him that he would see the face of that same mormon god IF he lived until he was 85, Joey Smith was confident that he and his listeners and readers would be long dead and buried and his “prophecy” forgotten by the descendants left behind...

Not many lived to a great age in those days..

That was not wild guessing that he would probably be dead by then and wouldnt have to face the music about his false prophecy...

In 1845 my 5th great grandfather died in Wiltshire England aged 96 but he had been happily married to a SARAH HEATH so that might have made the diffence..

The rest of my male ancestors who died during the 1800s were usually much younger and few lived past 60...

Also Joey Smith lived a dangerous life insulting and flaunting the boundries of the moral climate of the Victorian period he lived in...

The odds of his being shot to death by an irate father or husband or one of his victims he scammed with his get-rich-quick schemes were very high...
