Occupiers, Tea Partiers, and the Tenth Commandment

At the Occupy Phoenix demonstrations, fliers encourage protesters to violently resist police officers, asserting that "you will usually have only two options: submit, or kill the cop." At Zuccotti Park in Manhattan, an Occupy Wall Street protester was sexually assaulted in her tent; according to the New York Post, a woman was raped at the same site a few weeks earlier. In Denver, "Occupy" activists turned on the police, screaming obscenities and knocking a motorcycle cop to the ground. Occupy Oakland grew even more violent, as police were pelted with bottles and rocks, and had M-80 firecrackers thrown at them. And in cities from Boston to Berkeley, Occupy encampments have coincided with surges in vandalism, assault, and theft.

Charge them with vagrancy, administer a whipping to each one, then put them to work in workhouses, just like they did in Merry Olde England.

One of the best columns I have read in a long time. Should be required reading on Capitol Hill.

the hill should read the tenth commandment about wanting what is not theirs through taxation. I live in kansas and we have around 3 million people here and the budget is 13.7 billion dollars that is 41,000 dollars per person in money spent. Where is all the money going? I don't receive 41,000 in benefits from the state.

Most of it is going to the socialist school teachers.

Check it out. The single biggest budget item in state budgets are the socialist K-12 schools ( not including state universities or scholarships). In my state it is over 50%.

If states wanted to balance their budgets the answer is **easy**!

1) Allow individual teachers to open one room schools in their homes paid with vouchers or tax credits. The regulations on these schools should be the same as day care in the home.

2) Privatize all socialist school sports and arts programs such as music and theater, or have the county departments of parks and recreation take them over. The only reason many children are in our socialist schools is because the government is running a price-fixed, monopoly cartel on minor league sports for the big leagues. ( Fewer kids in schools mean fewer socialist teachers to pay and prison-like buildings to maintain. )

3) Give any child of any age who passes the GED an official high school diploma from their local high school. As children leave school for early admission to college, apprenticeships, the military, and trade school, lay off teachers, consolidate the schools and sell all schools that are not used.

4) Mastery exams. If a child shows mastery of a subject ( for example addition math facts) allow him to take a competency exam to prove his mastery. If he has mastery **immediately** promote him to the next level.

5) Get the best teachers to put the **entire** K-12 curriculum, lectures, and projects online starting in kindergarten. Allow access to anyone for FREE. Make mastery exams available for individual topics, if the child passes immediately promote him to the next level. The sooner a child finishes, the fewer buildings and teachers needed.

6)1) Give vouchers of $5,000 to any child who leaves their socialist school. Allow tax credits so any business or interested friend or relative can give to a private voucher program or fund a child who is not their own. As the private infrastructure grows, gradually reduce the amount of the vouchers and tax credits until, finally, there is complete separation of school and state.
