Hey, when you stop learning something new everyday, they say you are six feet under!

Give thanks for life!

God bless.

(Used to be one of my husband’s jokes.)

I guess I’ve always had these thoughts in my head when I pray afterwards, but seeing it in writing really helps. Thanks!

Thank you, Salvation. Well written, and well said. These last few months, I’ve begun attending a midday Mass on my lunch break. I’ve noticed that while I find no end of what I want to say in prayer afterward the Blessed Sacrament, it’s sometimes difficult to go back to work, especially since the parish in question has Adoration from the end of Mass until late afternoon. But, to be honest, that’s a conundrum I am happy to have. ;)

Wouldn’t one want to emphasize contrition before receiving Communion, rather than afterward?

The Baltimore Catechism said:
1. Thank Jesus for coming to you;
2. Tell Him how much you love Him;
3. Ask Him to help you;
4. Pray for others.

On Sundays when I’m not leading the choir, after the first three steps, I watch the people going past me and pray for their individual needs, as far as I know them.

One of our priests mentioned this acronym during a homily as a way to make a perfect prayer but I love the idea of doing it after Communion.

I love the Anima Christi after Communion.

We receive the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ in the Eucharist and that prayer says it all.

Also, the time after Communion is so short that if one is a EM, one has very little time to pray before the end of Mass. Following Mass there are the tasks that must be done in preparation for the next Mass.

I find the acronym handy for personal time spent in prayer whether at home, at Adoration or before Mass.
