Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and RINO Presidential candidate Mitt Romney have brought the many aspects of the breakaway LDS sect of Mormonism into the media spotlight. Energetic accusations and counter accusations, denials, coverup and obfuscation rule the discussion, all he while the forest is missed for the trees.
I present here the most shocking evidence yet brought to bear against the christianity claims of mormons.
Mormons believe Baal and Jupiter helped create the universe.
A graven image of Baal at the Nauvoo Illinois LDS Temple.
This is a photo of the very Jupiter Talisman that Emma Smith, Joseph's widow, claimed was his most prized possession and was in his pocket the day he died.
Just a little "light reading" from the breakaway LDS sect's version of Mormonism's Book of Abraham proves that mormons, like buddists, hindus, ancient greeks, egyptians and other babylonian mystery religion offshoots believe in multiple gods.
Abraham Chapter 4:
1 And then the Lord said: Let us go down. And they went down at the beginning, and they, that is the Gods, organized and formed the heavens and the earth.
2 And the earth, after it was formed, was empty and desolate, because they had not formed anything but the earth; and darkness reigned upon the face of the deep, and the Spirit of the Gods was brooding upon the face of the waters.
3 And they (the Gods) said: Let there be light; and there was light.
4 And they (the Gods) comprehended the light, for it was bright; and they divided the light, or caused it to be divided, from the darkness.
5 And the Gods called the light Day, and the darkness they called Night. And it came to pass that from the evening until morning they called night; and from the morning until the evening they called day; and this was the first, or the beginning, of that which they called day and night.
6 And the Gods also said: Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and it shall divide the waters from the waters.
7 And the Gods ordered the expanse, so that it divided the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so, even as they ordered.
8 And the Gods called the expanse, Heaven. And it came to pass that it was from evening until morning that they called night; and it came to pass that it was from morning until evening that they called day; and this was the second atime that they called night and day.
9 And the Gods ordered, saying: Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto bone place, and let the earth come up dry; and it was so as they ordered;
10 And the Gods pronounced the dry land, Earth; and the gathering together of the waters, pronounced they, aGreat Waters; and the Gods saw that they were obeyed.
That remark was SO typically "superior mormon" that isn't really worth responding to.
IMO, that is the primary reason that so many find Mitt disgusting...he carries that "I'm so much better than you" attitude into everything he does, including showing it during the debates.
We see it quite often among certain mormons here, especially the resident "scold" who feels free to even scold the site owner from her lofty perch.
One reason I'm happy I don't have to deal with mormons IRL.
Truth in advertising time again.
According to mormon teachings from the book of abraham
"They went down at the beginning, and they, that is, the Gods, organized and formed the heavens and the earth." (boa, ch 4)
Nothing about Jesus here SD
Perhaps you can explain why there are sooo many accounts from mormonism SD?
There is a God, and he hath created all things, both the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are (2 Nephi 2:14).
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who created heaven and earth, and all things (Mosiah 4:2).
And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end (2 Nephi 31:21; see also Alma 11:44; Mormon 7:7; D&C 20:28).
And by the word of my power, have I created them, which is mine Only Begotten Son, who is full of grace and truth. And worlds without number have I created; and I also created them for mine own purpose; and by the Son I created them, which is mine Only Begotten (Moses 1:32-33).
So what is it SD - was it a group of gods, a god, a god-in-training?
And why does this mormon Jehovah fail to recognize any other god beside himself - even heavenly father.
Jesus left the tomb before the stone was rolled away. He appeared outisde the tomb to the women coming to apply spices to what they supposed would be a dead body. He appeared to the Disciples in a locked and shuttered room. He appeared along the road and walked with two, then broke bread with them and vanished. He appeared to more than 500 at one time. He ascended into Heaven. Entering Mary's womb as a zygote aged human would be no problem for such an One, or being born from that womb without passing down the birth canal for that matter. The problem is not the story as passed down to us, it is the unwillingness to believe God's Promises and thus believe Jesus died for our Sins and rose again the third day.
Thx.
Genesis 1:1 says in the literal Hebrew, “In the beginning, the Gods created...” The term is Elohiym, the plural of Eloah or God.
How Phariseeical of you. Even your righteousness is as filthy rags before him. Comments like this could only come from a works righteous heretic. Speak no more of righteousness through the works of men, but rely only on the sanctification of the blood of Christ.
God saved me, and you are mocking Him and His work.
Denying you your cover up of well documented facts is not hatred. It is love for those you are trying to deceive.
Embarrassed by what your founders said and did ? Maybe you should consider abandoning them.
There is not one single word or act of Christ that I am ashamed of, or that I try to cover up.
MY GOD IS GOD.
Your scriptures say otherwise, lawyer. Enough said.
You simply MUST watch this video series if you have any interest in this at all. It is available free on youtube on "TheFuelProject" page in 15 minute increments, or available for purchase for about $30 at theapologeticsgroup.com. It is everything your will ever need to know about "Mystery Babylon", from Genesis, to Revelation, and what it means to us today.
I was born into it, raised in it, worked and suffered for it until the age of 35 when I was saved from it.
“Embarrassed by what your founders said and did ? Maybe you should consider abandoning them.”
Too bad I’m not a Mormon. Kind of puts the lie to your above statement. My family is Catholic on my father’s side, and Lutheran on the other side. I was baptized first as a Lutheran, and then when I got married, became Catholic. So nice try, no soap. But you believe what you want to believe. No skin off of my back.
I’ll take a look at it. Thanks.
Nimrod is mentioned in the Bible as the great-grandson of Noah and the son of Cush. More here about him.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nimrod
“In some versions (as in Flavius Josephus), Nimrod is a man who sets his will against that of God. In others, he proclaims himself a god and is worshipped as such by his subjects, sometimes with his consort Semiramis worshipped as a goddess at his side. (See also Ninus.)”
Women usually aren’t mentioned in the Bible unless they’ve played some direct and important role.
Their son, Tammuz, was a Babylonian god and even one of the months of the Jewish calendar came to named after him!
http://koinonia-all.org/bible/nimrod.htm
Take the time to research the pagan origins of the American holidays like Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and others and you’ll find they almost always lead back to them.
Thanks for the info.
I guess my problem with this hypotheses is that it is not in the Bible. At least clearly enough for me. I do not doubt the classical and Jewish sources exist, but it seems mythological, as it is not Biblical. Doesn’t mean it’s not so, though.
Nimrod was killed at the command of and by the "priests" of his wife Semiramis. The mythical belief is that he was re-incarnated and came out of the sea as a fish-god named Dagon. Dagon is all over in the bible.
Here is a pic of one of the many carvings of dagon, and you can make your own decision on where that tradition had influence.
Then, of course, you are NOT a lifelong former Mormon.
I was a lifelong mormon until I was saved 4 years ago at the age of 36. If I said anything different I made a mistake, although I couldn't locate one. If you've found incorrect grammar that led you to believe otherwise, let me save you some time and confess. I am guilty. I'm a sinner. My righteous works are filthy rags before God. He saved me simply because he loves me. He forgives me because I forgive others. I become better because I love him.
Besides what you should be asking is not whether the SENTINEL is a man, but whether the man is a SENTINEL. ;)
Your Post #9
You've only been a former Mormon for four years, and it already feels like a lifetime. Go figure. :o)
He saved me because He loves me, as well. He forgives me because He is merciful. I, too, become better because I love Him, Jesus Christ, the Redeemer and Savior. I'm right there with ya. May God continue to bless you and bring you happiness, as He does me.
