I was listening to Wilkerson preach on YOUTUBE last night, it said was from 1973. Was stunned. Shocked. Flabbergasted.
I had heard some of his preaching before but long forgotten this guy. Now it's all I can think about today. Any comments?
Bump
I wouldn’t say that I was shocked or flabbergasted upon hearing this sermon. I can recall the times of 1973 quite well, and most of his predictions were realities that had already been set in motion. As for the coming financial collapse, many of us at the time had parents that had lived through the great depression and they often anxiously discussed the prospect of another.
Aside from that, a good sermon, thank you for sharing.
How many of his predictions/prophecies have failed?
A Further Word (EARTH-SHATTERING CALAMITY)
Testing David Wilkersons Prophecy [John Piper]
David Wilkerson On Weird (NAR) Manifestations
His death was a real loss. Automobile accident. He founded “ TEEN CHALLENGE” both for men and later for women, a street ministry for alcoholics and drug addicts and saved many from the life of degradation with the Word and power and story of Jesus Christ.
He will wear a crown of glory.
I remember reading The Vision in the 70’s and remember bits and pieces of it, all of which have come true.
David Wilkerson was a true man of God. He grieved for the lost souls of this world and his ministry truly was about helping the poor, the sick, the hurting, the widowed, and the fatherless around the world. He never begged for money but always said Christ would meet the needs of his ministry.
Earth quakes, floods, hurricanes, tornados? SHOCKING. Recession? So, David Wilkerson could see the recession of 1979-1983? That is profound. He must have seen Jimma Carter.

Edit add: On April 27, 2011, while driving east on US Route 175 in Texas, Wilkerson crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a tractor trailer. He was reportedly not wearing his seat belt, and was pronounced dead on the scene. His wife was wearing a seat belt, and was injured.
One day we had an assembly at school and they brought in an old con who had been in and out of prison before coming to know Christ. He warned of the dangers of alcohol, gave his Christian testimony, and gave every student a copy of the The Cross and the Switchblade. Can you imagine that in a public school today?
I first read the book in 1980. Everything seems to have come true.
Of course, he was predicting the judgement would come to America in 1990, with Gulf War I, but later said he was wrong, because the huge outpouring of prayer in the US, had resulted in the chastisement being postponed.
However, remember the story of Jonah: Chastisement can be turned away by prayer and repentance.
Indeed, there are only two places where I read predictions of a peaceful fall of communism, and his was one of them. He also predicted revival of Christianity in Russia and China at the same time when Christians would start facing persecution in the west. Again, it has happened.
listen to the whole thing.
He predicted that communism would fall. He predicted Marijuana would be legalized. He predicted Homosexuals would be welcomed in the mainline churches. He predicted witchcraft would become common in our high schools. He predicted that some liberal Catholics would join with the agenda of the mainline churches, and that charismatic Catholics would be discouraged.
He also predicted Christianity would be preached in China and Russia.
Also that shortly afterwards, they wouldn’t be so friendly anymore.
He predicted Homosexuals would be welcomed in the mainline churches???
Quote: “homosexually” is not welcome in any Church I know, but the people are loved and accepted. (any more than “adultry” is quote: “accepted”, but God help us, the Church is filled with sinners.
Sorry...I know all of us sinners are welcome in church... welcomed. Sorry I phrased it wrong.
Hw was predicting a new “superchurch” of liberal Protestant and Catholics that would “accept” them:
“Homosexual and lesbian love will be vindicated ...and even encouraged...homosexual and lesbian ministers will be ordained and given places of authority in this church union, and will be heralded as a new breed of pioneer introducing new concepts of love and evangelism”...
he then goes on to say they will teach children in sunday school that this is okay.
