Those opinions are shared by any number of other political and entertainment industry individuals, though, so all the high moral dudgeon directed solely at Gibson must have been motivated by something else.

There’s nothing good about many of the things that he said and did during that time, but I don’t think that anyone is arguing that there was. I feel sorry for him, because for the rest of his life he will never be able to forget how he shamed himself, and no one else will be able to forget it either.
