“Come on, Dila, be fair. Can you name ANY adherent of ANY religion who absolutely 100% embodies every tenet, beatitude, nuance, behavior, practice, polity, etc. of that religion?”

That was my point. I am being fair, I don’t think others on this thread are.

Don’t read the cd description, talk to the guy, I bet he never authored what you are attributing to him.

I bet the church wanted his story as tilth to the church.

Are you for serious?

Let's say the Southern Baptist has some celebrity church member convert. And its resident publishing house does a DVD about his conversion to the Southern Baptist church with his permission -- and oh, btw, he also gets a "cut" of the profits.

But then, we're to take your uninformed word on it that this Southern Baptist's convert has limited or no linkages of his personal beliefs to that which the Southern Baptist church stands for.

Really? We're simply to take your presumptions at face value on this? (Your presumptions -- your assumptions -- that there's no personal interface 'tween the convert and his church?)

That's what makes your ongoing theme on this thread truly ironic. Here you consistently preach against "assumptions"...like these two posts:

You are talking about a man, not a religion, maybe you should ask him before you assume [post #59 to Tennessee Nana]

I am a Roman Catholic, but I would be really embarrassed if everyone assumed that every dogma, belief, etc.. could be projected on me. [post #81 to Colofornian]

Yet, without any specific knowledge offered up by you one way or the other -- we're just to take your...
...word
-- your presumption
-- your assumption
-- that Glenn Beck really doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Mormonism.

You see, Dila, assumptions work both ways. Some people can...
...wrongfully assume that all Mormons believe all things Mormon;
...and then, there are those who go beyond incredulity and assume that all Mormons -- or at least certain celebrity Mormons -- don't believe key things distinctively Mormon.

ALL of the above can be based upon assumption. And your assumptions have no "higher ground" than any other assumptions. Your speculations have no special elite platforms than any others.

At least the DVD testimony linkage offers knowledge upon which to base linkages.

In contrast, does your assumption offer any tidbits of knowledge or insight to Beck personally?

Nope.

Instead, you just assume away. All as you point fingers at others re: your accusations of assumptions.

Should we believe what you preach (re: not to assume)?
Or should we believe what you practice (your assumption that Glenn Beck is not linked to key Mormon beliefs & practices and to the church itself)?

This is just more of your same two-faced hypocrisy we've seen where you said one thing to me -- judging me to be "evil" and devil-like in post #14...and then by post #101, telling a poster not to "condemn the man though, for that makes you the judge of this man which is to claim authority over him."

Tell us, Dila, how did calling me "evil" in post #14 and labeling me devil-like somehow keep you from attempting to have authority over me? (Your claim in post #101 indicates that your critique of me was some kind of authoritative judgmental power play over me) Or to ask yourself your own Q, does post #14 indicate that "you think yourself a God?"

How was calling me "evil" and devil-like showing "your love of" me and how was that then in your mind "pull[ing]" me "to Christ" and "convert[ing]" me?

So, apparently it was "A-OK" for you to engage in what you label as "hate" and "personal attacks" in post #14, but by 2.5 hours later, you were on the lecture circuit to another poster in post #101 spouting against the above.

Sorry, but your inconsistencies are quite glaring.

His video ‘testimony’ is clear. I would love to sit down and discuss Mormonism and exactly why I left with Beck, and I will do it live on TV. If anyone knows how to arrange that, let me know.
