On Wednesday, I will be having laser surgery for a cataract. Even though I know that this is now a routine procedure, I am very anxious, especially since I am squeamish about stuff being put into my eyes.
Please pray for me to receive the grace from the Holy Spirit that will allow me to place it all in Gods Hands.
Prayers up!
Praying! My pastor, who is 68, just had this surgery last week on both eyes. He’s fine and didn’t miss a beat. You will be just fine as well.

I got some of those when I was going in for a CT scan. In my experience, physicians are usually fairly willing to prescribe those. Sometimes, just the look on my face is enough to convince them, and they will spontaneously write the prescription.
I think you will be fine. Not only that, your vision is going to be so good you’ll see details you never thought possible to see. Best of luck to you!!
Routine and you’ll do fine. I had a cataract removed about 10 yrs ago and you’ll be amazed at the difference in your eyesight once the bandage is taken off a day later. Keep the faith, relax and look for the positive outcome.
I had open heart surgery a little over three years ago. (Everything went well..I'm now doing triathlons)..The Sunday before the surgery..I was in church, and the Archbishop dropped by for a surprise visit to the parish. That's a pretty big deal..After the service, during fellowship hour, my priest brought me inside to meet him, and to receive a blessing...My priest explained to the archbishop about my surgery, and why I was in need of prayers, at which time he smiled, looked at me and said, "perhaps we should also pray for his surgeon."
We all did.....
Thank you, exDemMom! I figured I would get flamed for trying to turn our beloved Bigg Red into a druggie. LOL! There isn’t one thing wrong with having a procedure done with some pharmacy help. The less stress a body has to endure while undergoing this.. the better. IMHO.
I think that you will find that the operation is a miracle. You will see much better.
My mum had double cateract surgery in UK...under the National Health...it went OK.
Only problem was when she got back home and could see all the dust and cobwebs ....had me cleaning up her apartment for a week.
Sending prayers your way for a successful surgery and a quick recovery.
Prayers up, Bigg Red. You’ll be fine. Just let Jesus do the driving....
She now sees better than me. 20/40 vision, only because of some residual astigmatism. Eyeglasses will give her better than 20/20. Truly a miracle of modern science.
Be sure and not put your head below your waist for a couple of weeks and follow the meds instructions to the tee. Don't lift anything over 5 lbs and you will be fine.
“... had me cleaning up her apartment for a week”.
You are a good son or daughter for doing that! I am sure she was extremely appreciative to have such a clean house!
Thank you for your prayers.
Funny you should mention the anti-anxiety meds, as I was just thinking about that last night. Perhaps I’ll call my doc’s office tomorrow.
(BTW, I’m a woman. I know...I know...When I picked my stupid screen name I did not realize it sounded masculine. And I have not been able to figure out how to change it.)
Thank you.
Thank you.
Big honkin eyeballs attached to men actin like little girls. :)

LOL!
BTW, I am a girl — an old girl — and a girl who delivered 4 large babies without anesthesia, back in the 1970s, yet this give me anxiety
Thank you.
