I'm Baptist, but I read a book written by a cop in NY city about exorcisms performed in NYC. The cop, being a nonreligious man, found himself in the presence of things that could only be explained as demonic. According to him, the behaviors he witnessed were not at all human.
According to him at the time, the number of exorcisms were on the rise, and he knows what he saw was not natural.
Since then, his entire view of Christianity has changed, because without the priests doing this particular job, NYC would be in even bigger trouble than it is now.
When people visit NYC, they're not seeing NYC. They're just seeing the tourist section.

I read Hostage to the Devil many years ago after reading People of the Lie by Scott Peck and noticing that Peck had generously cited Hostage.

Hostage was not an easy read for the obvious reason. At night I was sufficiently disoriented by the book that I put it outside on the veranda of the B & B where I was staying at the time.

Also, I have lived in NYC and would agree with the notion that the City has a palpable influence of demonic evil. That said, as cities go, I found San Francisco to "feel" more evil than NYC by an order of magnitude.

BTW, I would strongly advise that only people of very strong faith should read this kind of material or even entertain thoughts about it. As Scott Peck says about it..."Danger, High Voltage!"

- I meant to add that St Michael appears androgynous (genderqueer) trait supposedly started by the pre-Rafaelite Brotherhood. John Ruskin (occultist) was their benefactor. Ruskin was also Cecil Rhodes mentor who founded the Rhodes Scholarship where Bill Clinton and others attended. The pre-Raphaelites revived the poet Blake who was also an occultist...his demonic poety became popular. Carmen Paglia wrote a terrific article about pre-Raphaelites. I did spirit release work in the 1990’s for quite a few years. At times it got really bizarre as the spirit would take control of a person and try to harm me. The real key was to never allow fear to enter me. As long as I continually stayed connected and allowed “Spirit” to work through me, they could not harm me. When you radiate unconditional Love, you are totally safe. Often the person would come at me trying to physically harm me and would hit a wall a few feet from me that they could not penetrate.

There were five of us doing this work at the time from various parts of the country. I was the only one that was not a medical Dr. Ironically, the other four ended up dead. There is no room to do this work from ego or you will slip up and the result is fatal.

Somewhere, I have a tape recording of a nasty demonic spirit that tried to kill me for several years. It moved into another woman and it was all two of us could do to keep her in the recliner and from harming herself. The transcript of this tape is in Dr. Irene Hickman’s book called “Spirit Depossion.”

I stopped doing this work after an intense session where there were hundreds of dark spirits going to the light, redeemed from their work. All of a sudden the room got freezing cold and I felt the presence of the ultimate evil. I turned to Michael and said “There he is. You can get him.” To which Michael replied, “It’s not time yet.” I realized that even evil has a purpose and that God is in control. His plan is unfolding exactly as it is supposed to, on His timetable. Everything, even the current chaos in our world is exactly according to His plan!

This is totally different from the hypnosis induced mind control stage tricks used by some evangelists. I would never, ever do this work in public as the people watching become vulnerable to harm.

Ps. Most spirits are not demonic. They are just stuck here misguided. I still help people who are having problems with ghosts in their houses, but would never go out looking to do it.
