I think I’ll believe what the Apostle Paul wrote about death over this couple.

“50I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. 53For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. 54When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:

“Death is swallowed up in victory.” 55 “O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”

56The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” - 1 Cor 15

“14For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 15For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18Therefore encourage one another with these words.” - 1 Thess 4

Guess Paul forgot about ‘Purgatory’!

Those who sleep in Christ will not be going to any purgatory, so no, Paul didn't forget he just addressed those who sleep in Christ. He was answering questions sincerely posted to him from believers who had lost a believing loved one.

And one other little note: as a Pharisee among Pharisees (as Paul/Saul identified himself at one time), Paul would know that his writing 'this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord' was equivalent to claiming Spiritual guidance as the Jew would understand it, as in a prophet speaking; by prefacing that what he was about to relate came as revelation from The Lord, Paul took a huge step in authority, and it is deserved, as witnessed by the volume of teaching he left for our edification.

How do you explain John the Apostle’s trip to heaven and seeing satan cast into hell in the book of Revelation? He came back to write a book too. An important one at the end of the bible.

I have the book and saw nothing unbiblical. But remember, we do not have the direct aramaic translation of the bible and it is not our basis for truth...the holy spirit is.

“There were an awful lot of them — when you looked out the window, they were just wandering,” he said.**

Maybe he was given a prophetic vision of medical treatment in the days of Obamacare...;^(

I don’t think he went to heaven.

I think he had a revelation.

I’ll go look it up though.

While I might agree academically with you, such an experience indicates a spiritual perception and a report through faith in Christ.

God the Holy Spirit magnifies Christ and there might be significant meaning for the believer with that spiritual gift to perceive what he has reported.

IMHO, its a good indication that perhaps we should study the Scripture which is used to allude to Purgatory and such awaiting spirits to better understand their significance by the guidance of God the Holy Spirit in our studies,

Nah.

Like I said “Revelation”, as in prophecy received through a vision or in this case, a series of visions.

Can’t have the Bible contradicting itself.
