Oh wait, Joseph Smith taught that he was greater than Jesus, so if he he started secret doctrines it's okay, right?.

No and the LDS practice of lying, obfuscating and dissembling about doctrines became a red flag for me, especially when I was told to do that as a LDS missionary.
