Absolutely. Community life and authority are great protections against the Evil One.
I think when God said, "It is not good for man to be alone," he wasn't just worried about him feeling lonely.
On the other hand, casting rhetorical aspersions on "individualism" is petty and shallow. A person's dignity is his individual birthright, and in community or not, must be honored by all. A person in community is exactly that: a person -- an individual -- choosing of his own volition to belong to a community.
People not only have the right to be individuals, they have an obligation to be "who they are."
