well, if it ever did, this would be the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place and we would know Jesus’s second coming would be imminent.
The organization that did that would cease to be the Catholic Church at that point, and would be just an impostor organization. The real Catholic church would be with the faithful remnant who would immediately leave the apostate organization claiming to be the Catholic Church.
Then it will no longer be the One,True Church. This will create a huge schism that has been predicted for quite a while now.
