Jimmy Creech spent his career as an ordained United Methodist pastor until the church took his credentials away as punishment for conducting same sex commitment ceremonies in Omaha and Chapel Hill.
He was not convicted at a trial in Nebraska in 1998, but he lost his church assignment and the stage was set for a second trial in 1999 after he officiated a ceremony at United Church of Chapel Hill. Since then he has been a leader of LGBT justice issues, retired to Raleigh and travels the country speaking. He also has written an account of the upheaval, "Adam's Gift: A Memoir of a Pastor's Calling to Defy the Church's Persecution of Lesbians and Gays." He'll speak about it Saturday at the Durham County Library Main Branch downtown.
Creech said the recent inclusion of gay and lesbian clergy in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and Presbyterian Church (USA) might seem like sudden changes, but they weren't. It took time to grow support and get the votes, he said

And John Wesley, if he were alive today, would have taken a whip to each and every one of these wanton sinners for what they have done to his church.

That alleged pastor may have been called, but the calling was not from God.

true, div class="b2"> This is what an ex-
Ruling Elder of the OPC says about the Ortho Presbyterian group:
From the Trinity Foundation
- the Report continues the conspiracy of silence that has prevailed in the OPC for three decades. It leaves the erroneous impression that the serious doctrinal problems are outside the denomination, not within it. The Report gives false comfort to those who think the OPC is still a bastion of Biblical orthodoxy. On the contrary, the Report, and the 2006 General Assemblys commendation of it, both maintain the OPC as a safe haven for those who teach error
- Men within the OPC, including at least one member of the Committee itself, teach heresy regarding the Gospel and many other fundamentals of the faith.
- The OPC long ago ceased to proclaim the one true Gospel to the exclusion of all false gospels
- The Orthodox Presbyterian Church has abandoned the marks of a true church of Jesus Christ
- The Orthodox Presbyterian Church was founded in 1936 by about 135 people who were offended by the lack of discipline in and doctrinal errors of the Presbyterian Church in the USA. .
But early in its history the OPC fell under the influence of an agnostic view of propositional revelation emanating from Westminster Seminary -- a view that said that there is no identity of content between the \"Christian system\" of theology, meaning Reformed confessions of faith, and the \"divine system\" of theology, known only to God.
This agnosticism has now brought the OPC to the point of falling. Like its predecessor, the PCUSA, the OPC has failed to discipline teachers who teach contrary to Scriptures and the Confession of Faith, and it has endorsed un-Biblical teaching about Scripture and the Gospel.

Romans chapter 1 verses18-32 while homosexuality is not the only sin—it remains as it is written of in Scripture. I can not consider this man a Pastor of the Christian faith when his focus seems so limited and his apparent proclaiming the Gospel so manifold with error.

"Creech details the UMC trial there after he officiated a ceremony between two women at the church. Though he was acquitted, the bishop still took away his church assignment and Creech returned to Raleigh." I don't understand how a proven, admitted violation can result in an acquittal. Do these people willfully look the other way when it comes to scriptural commands? The UMC is dead, has been dead for some time now.
And the current Dyke minister in Wisconsin just got a hand-slap 20-day suspension for her willful, still-defiant "marrying" of two dykes. It was like the committee didn't want to do anything to her. They are complicit in her sin.
