Did you read this in the comments section?

There is always those around the guilty person who knew of the abuse and did nothing. That would be a sin of omission.

So what punishment is being meted out to them?

Good. I would like to know when he was laicized and who petitioned to have it done. Was it the priest himself or was it done by officials?

Did the crimes take place in San Francisco? If they took place up into the 1990’s I would expect to see criminal charges. Oh heck I would hope to see them.
