it got me thinking. Does this mean literally a wholly different planet elsewhere? If not, where will all the water of the seas go? will it be just rivers? will the whole planet be a giant amazonian preserve? maybe some other planet in our solar system will take the place of this earth. I mean the sun will expand and that, in my thinking would change conditions all over the solar system. just a thought. too much coffee me thinks :p

IIPeter 3 whole chapter is a good place to start. Peter says the ‘first’ heaven/earth age was destroyed.. what is to be destroyed is the bad/evil/perverse pollutants of this flesh age.

Check out Randy Alcorn’s page: www.epm.org
He has written a book called “Heaven” which is THE book on heaven if you want solid theology.

Here is a link to his web site about your question.

The reference made in Genesis about the condition of the earth at creation is the same reference made in Revelations.
The face of the earth will wiped clean, and re-created.

What did Jesus mean when He said that His Father has many mansions and that He would have one prepared for His people?

When my husband first heard that verse he was shocked. No sailing in heaven???!!! I had to remind him that whatever pleasure we have on earth will in no way compare to the glory we will have in Heaven. Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the wonderful things that God has prepared for them that love him. (I Cor. 2:9)
