Does this mean literally a wholly different planet elsewhere? If not,where will all the water of the seas go? will it be just rivers? will the whole planet be a giant amazonian preserve? maybe some other planet in our solar system will take the place of this earth. I mean the sun will expand and that, in my thinking would change conditions all over the solar system. just a thought. too much coffee me thinks :p

The Mansions are the Universe itself, it is where the raptured saints go to...
The earth will be purified and the Saints of GOD with Jesus will return to earth after the Great Tribulation....
I believe Comet Elenin is the Christ returning for his people....We will see this IMHO this Sept 2011

When my husband first heard that verse he was shocked. No sailing in heaven???!!! I had to remind him that whatever pleasure we have on earth will in no way compare to the glory we will have in Heaven. Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the wonderful things that God has prepared for them that love him. (I Cor. 2:9)
If you read Revelation, not everyone who is alive on the earth when Christ comes back is immortal. There will be those that rule and reign with Christ a 1000 years and there will be those that are not yet saved but still alive on earth when Christ returns.
Life for these mortals will be different from now, they will live a lot longer than we currently do. They will say if a person dies at 100 that he was very young.
If you read further on Satan is loosed at the end of 1000 years to try to deceive people one last time and this final rebellion is put down by Christ. Even with Christ alive on earth ruling and reigning some of unsaved, sinful mankind will be enticed by Satan to rebel against a God they know exists and loves them.
I believe Jesus said, “Behold, I make all things new,” (Rev 21:5), not “I make all new things.”

universe today points out how this comet will come by very close to the earth in October -- it will pass by Earth on October 16, coming as close as 35 million km (22 million miles). -- yes it will be close, just 22 million miles away, pretty close for a 13m wide ball of ice. It doesn't have a magnetic field either as it is too small
What if it isn't? Will you then look for the next date?

We are supposed to prepare (Matthew 25), and wait, not endlessly predict.
If Jesus did not want to look for his return, he would of not given us these passages..

A small ice ball passing by the Earth does not mean that Jesus returns. If you want to see some real meteorite activity, look to Siberia. I doubt Jesus hitchhiked a ride on the meterorite then and since this thing is going to miss the Earth by a wide margin, I doubt it now. Jesus wanted us to prepare ourselves for His return, not to give cash to modern day Simon Magus's.
Prepare how for his return????
By going to church and reading the Bible and doing good works?
We should always be doing that, but preparing for his return is just what it means....Just as you would prepare for a vacation or any place you were going...
Jesus gave us *Signs and Seasons* for a purpose, not just to hear himself talk...
I guess you could say..Take what you can and leave the rest...:)
By preparing ourselves as the wise virgins did. By making ourselves conform to His commandments. By following the exhortations of Paul that we run the race to the end.
We are not supposed to listen to modern day astrologers give us spiritual advice any more than the Jews were supposed to listen to astrologers in Deuteronomy. And I consider the Harold Campings of this world to be modern day astrologers.
I am not saying that...The Star of Bethlehem was only understood by the *Wise* not the foolish..Only the wise men came to see the Christ child...
Only the Wise virgins will have enough oil in there lamps to see (Signs and Seasons) Christ coming in the Clouds of Glory...
