I think that you are being unnecessarily charitable.
The day when Christ will come, will come. It may be today, may be a thousand, etc years in the future. We shouldn't focus on the far future but live today, each day as if it is THE day.
Absolutely correct.
But Tara's threads make me worry about her -- she seems a very good sort, a seeker, but it's not good to grope in the dark with your eyes firmly shut to the light of God. In that groping, one can find a number of ropes that are actually snakes or ropes tied to nothing.
Instead there is the clear light of Christ.
Rapture or no rapture, we focus on Christ NOW
Well Thank you for your concern, but my relationship with Jesus Christ is fully intact....He is my LORD and Saviour and I do my daily best to live out the life he would want me to..Not as a perfect person, but a person that is saved by grace, and to live by the SPirit of Christ and share his kingdom of love and forgiveness with other’s who do not know him....
However:
Psalm 130:6
My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
I constantly seek out the wisdom of GOD....
Proverbs 2:6
For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
1 Kings 3:12 I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be.
I am content in my salvation, by the Blood of the Lamb..
But as the GOD I worship is eternal and infinite, I could never know all of what he is, who he is, and his infinite nature..
So for me I seek out all what I can understand, like a Sponge in the wisdom that GOD grants to me...
So yes that does come in the form of Supernatural and Divine Cosmic occurrences....
The day when Christ will come, will come. It may be today, may be a thousand, etc years in the future. We shouldn’t focus on the far future but live today, each day as if it is THE day.
*SO how are you doing that?*
You said:
I think that you are being unnecessarily charitable.
Which proves my point..You are nothing like our LORD Jesus Christ...
You should get to know him....
Firstly, I'm not doing it well enough full stop, there is so much more I could easily do, yet I don't
Secondly, what I do is pray a little (and I could easily do more and when I kick myself to remember, then I do)
Thirdly, I definitely, consciously try to live my life as Christ taught -- I fail a lot, but I try.
I don't care if the day is on October 21st or not, but try to remind myself that it could be today
Of course Mark isn't -- neither am I, neither are you, neither are all the saints no matter how hard they tried. But what matters is that they tried.
Fixating oneself on these conspiracy theories is not good, fixating ourselves on Christ is the way
I can chew gum and rub my tummy at the same time...
:)
GOD gave us a brain to use in many ways!
God gave us a brain to use in many ways, but a soul to focus on God. Spending time speculating on the next comet will bring Christ riding on it is not right.
Cronos,
I respectfully dis-agree with you....
I wish you GOD’s blessings and Peace....
Tara....
Very interesting. In support of your statement, you give us single verses from Psalms, Proverbs, 1 Kings, and James. Well, at least you have a single snippet of the NT in there.
So for me I seek out all what I can understand, like a Sponge in the wisdom that GOD grants to me...
The Gospels are beyond even an attempt at your understanding?
This proves mine. There is NOBODY like the Lord Jesus Christ. Look at all the fanatics who think that they are God. You accuse me of not being like God.
Of course I'm not. I don't think that I am at all. Do you think that you are like God?
I try to reflect the Spirit of Christ to everyone, so that they know I am a follower of the LORD Jesus Christ..
Who do you reflect? because IMHO you do not reflect the Light of Christ, and I don’t mean to be un-kind but just truthful, by all the comments I read from you...
Did you not read the Gospel message I even posted?
I said I could never know enough about the infinite triune GOD I worship and love.
Calling very non Christians like Hagee Christian might indicate that a little Windex on your mirror is called for.
Who do you reflect? because IMHO you do not reflect the Light of Christ, and I dont mean to be un-kind but just truthful, by all the comments I read from you...
If you've been blinded by the light of the likes of Hagee, wouldn't you say that your judgement is compromised?
You didn't post the Gospel message. You posted four snippets - 3 from the OT and 1 from James. I fear that you mistake the lead-in from the OT and the commentaries of the Epistles for the words of Jesus.
I said I could never know enough about the infinite triune GOD I worship and love.
That's because you are obviously missing the point. The point is the pinnacle of God's revelation to man - the four Gospels.
You do not know the heart of John Hagee, so what right do you have to judge him?
Did you forget this passage?
Matthew 7:5
You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Matthew 7:4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
You are so quick to pass judgement on other’s but not yourself, you do not see a problem in that?
I am not missing any point of my relationship with Jesus Christ..
I know what Christ speaks of when it comes to having a humble spirit, a forgiving spirt, a loving spirit, a joyful spirit, a sinner saved by grace..
Obviously you forgot about those gospel messages....
One may judge his writings.
http://www.biblewheel.com/forum/showthread.php?t=229 says that:
In his book In Defense of Israel (2007), beginning in the section called “The Jews did not Reject Jesus as Messiah” (p. 132) John Hagee relentlessly twisted Scripture in his attempt to prove that Jesus Christ did not come “to be Messiah to the Jews.” His denial of Jesus as the Christ (Messiah) cannot be overlooked as a mere “slip of his pen” because he repeated his assertion “seven ways from Sunday” as seen in this sample of seven quotes from his book:
If God intended for Jesus to be the Messiah of Israel, why didn’t he authorize Jesus to use supernatural signs to prove he was God’s Messiah, just as Moses had done? (p. 137)
Jesus refused to produce a sign ... because it was not the Father’s will, nor his, to be Messiah. (p 138)
If Jesus wanted to be Messiah, why did he repeatedly tell his disciples and followers to “tell no one” about his supernatural accomplishments? (p. 139)
The Jews were not rejecting Jesus as Messiah; it was Jesus who was refusing to be the Messiah to the Jews. (p. 140) They wanted him to be their Messiah, but he flatly refused. (p. 141)
He refused to be their Messiah, choosing instead to be the Savior of the world (p. 143)
Jesus rejected to the last detail the role of Messiah in word or deed. (p. 145)
John Hagee’s words directly contradict the central message of the entire New Testament. Indeed, John Hagee’s words directly contradict the fundamental declaration that defines the Christian Faith, which is that Jesus is the Messiah (i.e. the Christ).
Are you proud of it?
I know what Christ speaks of when it comes to having a humble spirit, a forgiving spirt, a loving spirit, a joyful spirit, a sinner saved by grace..
Funny that you have posted nothing by Christ. It also does not mean that you practice any of these qualities.
Obviously you forgot about those gospel messages....
When I speak of the Gospel, I refer to the Gospel of Jesus. The OT is the leadup to the Gospel and the rest of the NT is the commentary on the Gospel. What are they teaching wherever it is that you hang out?
