I missed this (over two years ago). I left a church over Rick Warren's "Willow Creek Church Association" I found out our church had secretly joined, and was sending money to the Pope of Political Correctness (Rick Warren). This was just after Rick gave an open mike at his church to AL GORE. And didn't press him on his support for partial birth abortion.

The Willow Creek Association is not Rick Warren's group. It's based out of Willow Creek Community Church in suburban Chicago, where Bill Hybels is the senior pastor. Warren is in California.

I am very disappointed with him. I remember listening to him speak right after 9-11. Didn't know much about him and new to being a conservative. At the time, he seemed like a pretty bright guy.

This thread has become very confused. Saddleback and Willowcreek are two VERY different churches.

It’s the same “seeker sensitive” movement. And our church was paying for Rick’s “leadership summits” to be beamed in by satellite to our church (in conjunction with WCCA).

Practicing Christians voted overwhelmingly for McCain/Palin, I would say that the majority of all people that would even claim to be Christian, voted against Obama.
Again, the leadership summit is a Willow Creek event; Rick Warren is separate. I have my quarrels with both Willow Creek and Rick Warren, but they are not the same thing.
