HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police say there's a woman stealing from purses in the middle of church services all over the Houston area and some people may not even realize they've fallen victim to her. One of the churches hit by the thief is Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in northwest Houston, say police. But it's the video from another church that investigators want you to watch closely.
Sheriff's deputies believe she has targeted victims across the city and as far away as Galveston -- and in a place those victim's least expected it.
Cynthia Gonzalez, 43, also known as Cynthia Martinez, is not new to the criminal justice system. Her rap sheet goes back 20 years. But the doors she's suspected of passing through now are even surprising to investigators.

She wouldn’t happen to be an undocumented democrat, would she?
Just thinkin’.
Perfect candidate for the West Wing Clown group of felon-cretins.
Same thing happened to my aunt except in a movie theater.
I’ve noticed that church is the one place where women are trusting and leave their purses unattended. They either leave them on the ledge in the ladies’ room and then go into a stall, or else they leave them in a pew and then go across the room to talk to a friend. It would be very easy for some lady to dress up like a churchgoer and steal from purses, then stroll innocently out of the building. I trust my fellow Christians, but still, anybody at all can walk into a church, so I guard my purse at all times.
That church is not too far from my house.
My sister had her wallet stolen right from her purse at a Kroger store nearby too. You can’t afford to lose sight of your purse for a second.
When I was a kid I forgot my purse in the pew at church. My dad and I went back to the rectory to check for it, but no, it was gone. My dad was shocked. In church, someone took a little kids purse, in CHURCH! I learned early, never leave your purse unattended.
