For your Lord's Day reflection.

American Pelagian Charles G. Finney denied original sin, and preached a “gospel” of autosoteriology rooted in a grim self-righteousness. This led to a number of crusading movements (crusaders never see the beam in their own eye, they are too busy externalizing and reifyng evil, incarnating it in some reverse idol) such as “temperance” and the American War between the States.
The most dangerous “crusade” Finney’s followers catalyzed, however, was the Billy Graham version — an efficient mechanism for mass-producing false conversions.
St Augustine and the Council of Orange taught baptismal regeneration, something Calvin and other Reformed rejected. St Augustine, Orange and Trent all rejected double predestination, another Calvin novelty.
I’m enjoying this. Thanks GC!
