Prayers up for you both. My grandfather in law had a stroke in his forties that left him with just such a speech problem. He just couldn’t get the words out, but understood everyone perfectly. He was a wonderful man who was very loved and lived into his late 80’s.
As for your issues, have you heard of the Primal Diet? It’s heavy on meat and healthy fats, and of course tons of vegetables, but no grain products. The cookbooks are fantastic and worth just checking out. Mark Sisson is the main promoter of this lifestyle, check out his website: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/. I promise he’s a regular guy, no hippy-dippy stuff!
