I think one if the most liberating aspects of Catholicism -- I mean, besides the fact that it's the truth -- is that it demands the exercise of your faculties of judgment. Good judgment can't always be reduced to a fixed set of rules for each and every situation.
Anyone can see the value of refraining from telling someone how awful you think he is. For one thing, you might be wrong.

I was always taught as a child to look for one good point in every person I meet.
