After seeing The Passion of the Christ (for the first time) on Good Friday, I all the more enjoy the wisdom of Michael Voris.

And no business in the voting booths either:

I don't feel like watching a video. Are you saying Protestants should not be allowed to interpret scripture? Or, are you saying they just cannot interpret scripture accurately?

Actually if it were not for the Catholic Church, the Bible, as it is today, would not even exist. There would have been Bible babel.

To hear what Voris has to say (he has his own unique style), you'd really have to listen to him, but in short he says Protestants have no one to adequately interpret scripture for them (that they only have themselves, and oftentimes even squabble amongst themselves as it is).

So Protestants cannot have the Holy Spirit?
Jesus promised in John 14:16-17 that He would send a Councelor, the Spirit of Truth.

John 14:16

16 And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you for ever,
17 even the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him; you know him, for he dwells with you, and will be in you.

Are you saying Protestants cannot receive the Spirit of Truth?

Laughable crap. Not only can't the Catholic church figure out what Scripture means, I really doesn't care to. Catholics have church teachings upon which to build their macabre house of cards.

If Scripture refutes church teachings, then Scripture must be wrong or must be interpreted in some ridiculously tortured fashion in order to render it's clear meaning impenetrable.

Catholicism is not a faith. It's a way of life much like Islam that conscripts it's devotees into an miserably arcane labyrinth of crazy prophetic children, power mad cardinals and perverts.

Christ sets people free from liturgy, cant and confusion when He says, "Come unto Me all ye who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." Come unto Me! - not come unto the church.

Seems to me that all this “Protestant Subversion” got started in the first place because the guys in funny hats thought they had cornered the market when it came to interpreting the Holy Writ. Then along came Gutenburg with his nifty little press followed 75 or so years by Luther’s 95 Theses and their little indulgence selling, we’ll tell you what we think you need to know apple cart got tipped over.

They’re still trying to put the genie back in the bottle to this day

Jesus states in Luke 21:33

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

Are you saying God would not have been able to fulfill the prophesy of Jesus if the Catholic Church did not exist?

What Voris is saying, is there are tens of thousands of variations of The Truth out there and there can only be One Truth. Myself, I was a Protestant for 33 years, then came to know Jesus [more closely] through the actions of those who partook in the Eucharist daily. I’ve now been a Catholic for close to 28 years.

Yes. Jesus wrote nothing. He taught through people. He sent the Holy Spirit to guide people. Jesus fulfills his promise to be with people made before books were written. People in the Catholic Church decided the Bible canon in due time. The Catholic Church exists to fulfill the prophesy of Jesus.

Yes, and according to Pio, neither would the world. "It would be easier for the world to survive without the sun than to do so without the Holy Mass." --Padre Pio

Mr. Voris may or may not be sincere, but he is a kook, and should not be allowed to speak in a Catholic church or any official function. His anti-democratic nonsense is out of step with all of the recent popes and the entire US Catholic tradition.

Since the days of the first American Bishop John Carroll, a confidant of George Washington and the other Founders, the US Catholic Church has been pro-democracy. Bishop Carroll’s brother Daniel Carroll signed the Constitution and his cousin Charles Carroll signed the Declaration of Independence.

And Obama has the truth of government and the Conservatives have no business trying to tell him what to do.
