I remember having a St. Christopher medal in our car. Anyone else?
We always said a family Rosary too when we started out on an automobile trip. I still say one on the airplane or in my car.
On the airplane, I get some strange looks, but I really don't mind. I think sometimes that these people might wish they had this kind of faith and prayer in their lives.

We always had the St. Christopher medal in the car. When I was a kid (late 50s-early 60s), all the WWII Catholic vets wore St. Chris medals. It is associated in my mind with the very best of masculinity! Strange, huh?

Interestign that in the Orthodox iconographical tradition St. Christiphor is often shown with a dog's head. Not always, but sometimes. I understand, that is done to indicate his rough nature prior to the conversion.
