I just noticed my copy of the BOM has what looks like an Anderson painting in the inside fly leaf. Then Arnold Friberg’s paintings on through.
With all the paintings Friberg did for the BOM one wonders why he never did show anyone riding a Tapir.
I have a section I tore from an April 1988 WESTERN HORSEMAN magazine about Friberg, and carried around an old calender painting of his from 1961.

Arnold Friberg, arguably more than any other artist, established for Latter-day Saints what Book of Mormon people, landscapes, and events might have looked like. (had they ever existed...) http://maxwellinstitute.byu.edu/publications/jbms/?vol=10&num=1&id=238

Sounds like you are interested in art. I like to tease Elsie the Borden Cow as I used to be the exclusive dealer for Keith Ward who created Elsie. He was also the guy that illustrated all of the Black Stallion books in addition to All the Dick and Jane readers.
We now own the Maynard Dixon property where we are having the picnic in July. Come on down!
